What is Court Piece?
Court Piece is a four-player partnership trick-taking card game popular across South Asia — India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the diaspora. It is known regionally as Rang, Rung, Trump, Kot Piece, or Sar Bazi. Two teams of two play; one team calls trump, and both teams try to win tricks (also called "hands" or "haath").
How Court Piece scoring works
Each round, one player is the bidder and names trump. The bidder's team tries to win a target number of tricks; the opposing team tries to stop them. On a win, each player on the bidder's team earns +bid points and the opposition loses the same amount. On a loss, signs reverse.
ScoreWise also supports an optional bidder bonus — a ±bonus that applies only to the bidder, separate from the team score. Toggle it per session.
Why use an app instead of paper?
Pen-and-paper scoring pauses the game every time someone does math wrong or someone spills chai on the sheet. ScoreWise enters a round in under 10 seconds: pick the bidder, tap teammates, type the bid on a custom keypad, tap Won or Lost. Edit any past round and totals recompute instantly from scratch. Works offline — you only need a connection for ads and the optional live-share feature.

Tap the broadcast icon on any session's scoreboard to generate a QR code. Anyone who scans it watches your Court Piece scoreboard update round by round in any browser — no app install required for viewers. Useful when half the group is on a video call or when a kibitzer wants to watch without disturbing the table.
